Custom Homes, Outdoor Living, and High-End Remodeling in New Lenox, IL

Most construction projects don't fail because of the work, they fail because of how the project is handled. Poor communication. Rushed decisions. No real structure. We take a different approach.

From Frame to Finish

Real Builds. Real Stages.

Every project moves through the same disciplined sequence, structure, framing, drywall, and finish. Here's what that looks like on an actual EZ Custom Homes job site.

A Different Approach

Construction Doesn't Have to Be a Headache.

You've probably heard the horror stories. They're not made up, that's how a lot of projects go. Here's the difference.

What Most Homeowners Expect

  • Delays with no explanation given
  • Contractors who don't return calls or messages
  • Big decisions made on the fly, mid-build
  • Job sites that feel out of control
  • Surprises in cost and timeline at the end

How We Operate

  • Clear timelines with real reasons behind them
  • You hear back — communication is part of the job
  • Decisions get planned — not improvised on site
  • Organized, supervised job sites from start to finish
  • Honest numbers early — not at the end
Our 8-Step Process

How a Project Actually Moves From Call to Close-Out.

01

Initial Conversation

An initial conversation to define project scope, budgeting expectations, and what success looks like for your project.

02

On-Site Visit

We come look at the property, the existing structure, and the site conditions in person.

03

Preconstruction

Plans, engineering, selections, and permits coordinated up front so the build starts on solid footing. See how it works →

04

Value Engineering

The most important phase: helping you stay within budget while still getting the results you're looking for on the project.

05

Clear Proposal

Realistic numbers, scope, and what's included, in writing, up front.

06

Schedule & Materials

We lock in start dates, lead times, and material selections before breaking ground.

07

Build With Oversight

Organized, supervised job site, with consistent communication from your project manager throughout the build.

08

Walkthrough & Close-Out

We walk the finished work with you, address punch list items, and close the project properly.

Frequently Asked

Honest Answers, Up Front.

If your question isn't here, the fastest way to get a real answer is a quick conversation. We'll give you realistic numbers early, not at the end.

Ask a Question
It depends on scope, size, and materials. We give realistic numbers early in the conversation rather than waiting until the end, so you know what makes sense before you commit.
Outdoor projects typically take 1 to 4 weeks on-site. Custom home builds generally run about a year. Remodels fall in between depending on scope, and we'll walk you through a realistic schedule before we break ground.
Yes. Permits are part of the job, we handle the paperwork, inspections, and coordination with the village so you don't have to chase any of it.
Yes. Changes happen on most projects, and we handle them through a clear process, written, priced, and scheduled, so nothing gets lost or surprises you later.
Who This Is a Good Fit For

Are We the Right Builder for Your Project?

We don't try to be the right builder for every job. Here's how to tell if we're a fit for yours.

You're a Good Fit If…

These are the homeowners we do our best work for.

  • You want a high-quality result that lasts
  • You value clear, consistent communication
  • You're planning a larger project, remodel, outdoor space, or new home
  • You want the work done properly, not the fastest or the cheapest
  • You don't want to deal with chaos during construction

Probably Not a Fit If…

No hard feelings, we'd rather tell you up front.

  • You only need small repairs or handyman-level work
  • You're shopping purely on lowest price
  • You need the job rushed at the expense of quality
  • You're not ready to commit to a real timeline yet
